Do you see what I see..???

Do you see what I see?
This Hen Named Caboose Is one of My Last "Babies" we hatched In January Last year.
She has been so very broody.
And well If she is going to just sit and Pinch our other Laying hens eggs,
I figured May as well let her sit.

And Yep right on 21 days and a little fluffy darling!
WE Only gave her four eggs and Two later we discovered were not fertile!
sadley one of two hatched a chick that whilst looked perfect Until you looked at it's tummy!
It had some birth defect...And later died.
But better to have that happen than it to suffer or be deformed and sickly.

And All is well that ends well....Caboose is Happy and Being the Perfect Mumma Hen.
Got any ideas for little chicks Name?

And In closing....Only a quick post today,
Look What I found....I know many of you "SHABBY" Gals are gong to go Nuts over this....

A Blue Tulle Christmas tree....All for $1!
Not My Thang...But I know some of you will be "WOOP, WHOOPING OVER IT!"
My Daughter has fallen crazy in love with it,
I was going to do a Giveaway with it BUt Looks LIke a change of plans...
I am struggling to even think of Christmas!
So much to do so little time...AND ENERGY!

Let's see, if the momma hen's name is Caboose, what about Little Red (even though he's/she's not red, but for Little Red Caboose. Or Little Red Hen.
The tree reminds me of a blue aluminum tree that my aunt had when I was little. I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. She had one of those spotlights that had the different colored plastic circular thing that rotated and made the tree look different colors. Oh my, I was mesmerized by that tree.

Congratulations to you and the new mum - we have chickens and one is always broody - what a great result! THat tree has got to be one of a kind... but not for long!!

Well, I think it should be named "the lucky one" for obvious reasons......

Naming chicks is hard! Some of them take a few months to develop a personality. I had a hen setting on almost 30 eggs, and since I didn't mark the originnal ones, she got to do them all. Only eight hatched. I haven't named any of those yet!

I always loved when our hens would get broody. Its almost like Christmas to go outside and find a new baby there. Maybe you should call it 'Autumn'...

The tree is cute but I'm like you... its just to frilly....

Take Care,
Debbie

This is such a precious story. . .hmm, there's a name for you. And Caboose is the best! Thanks for sharing and I'm glad I found you at Donna's place.

Congratulations on your new baby!! How adorable!! So many people in my community are starting to raise their own chickens. I think it's such a great idea. My husband would never go for it but at least we can get fresh eggs from our friends when their hens start laying. How about "Peeps" for the new baby's name?

Where did you find that tree for $1.00?!!? I LOVE it!!! I wouldn't have let you give it away either. Yay for your daughter!! :)

We have two black chooks names Henryetta and Petunia, so for short they're Henny and Panny! lol Other chooks we've had were Mooney, Lily, Rhoda (Road Is Red) Pearl and well countless others that I can't remember having named...
I just love the tree!!! It's not my thing, especially being blue, but I can pictire making it in green tulle! How's about a tutorial?!?! Or at least e-mail me and let me know how to do it. *wink* I'm glad you like your brooches! I make bigger ones to put onto my plain bags too. It really jazzes them up!
Hugs! Manda

Cute ideas for the name. Did you name it?

I just love when Don lets the hens brood and we get to watch the hens mother the chicks. They are incredible mothers.

Oh Kylie, I miss my chookies and it's been a while now!
I did not know they liked and ate yoghurt! Wow! ...and a clever mum, now :D
