Life for us the last 18 months has been all consuming with Births,job changes,and so much more...
But I am posting this as a tribute to my Beloved ,adored and surely missed Grandfather...
Monday the 15th just 5 days ago is a day where I grew up just alittle more...
The day I rushed to be there when the call came he was 'leaving"....I did not make it.
He always hated goodbyes...always wanted you to Linger a little longer...One More cuppa before heading home.
Yesterday was the final "Goodbye and see you one day" for my Pa.
The Day I saw 2 of the most courageous Women My Granny and My Mum Show what true love is....
A squadron Leader for the RAAF.
A Stunt kite designer and builder
A draftsman....Responsible for the Canary Islands runway design...Mapped parts of Australia.
A race car caller...
Model Plane builder...
A avid fisherman...Only happy where the sun shone and by the sea...
A larrakin...Often a little bit 'naughty"Possessed a wicked sense of Humor...Always way too nice...Saw the best in everyone.
From the Great Love he and Gran shared was Born My Mum...There only Child.
She birthed four children...And yesterday when we laid him to rest 5 generations were Represented there..
4 Grandchildren.... .20 Great Grandkids,Another on the way...One great great Grandkid...Amazing.
The last and final Thing I got to do for my Pa....Was to read a Poem I wrote...My Kids each laid a Yellow (his fav Color) flower On his coffin and I brought armfulls of Wattle from the Bush where we live ...

I know yesterday was a hard day for you Kylie, but what a lovely send off you gave a man who was so loved. It couldn't be more perfect than to have all his descendents there to farewell him.

Hi Kylie, with all the sadness surrounding the next few months, try to remember that your memories take that loss and turn it around to make you smaile, all the stories he told to you, the laughter you both shared thats what survives time itself. Though he is gone he will never be forgoten

Your Pa sounds like a wonderful man...how lucky you both were to have such a love. I know how hard it is....I have now lost all my grandparents...my brother and I were the only grandchildren on both sides....we were very, very close to all of them. So sorry for your loss.

Wow, Kylie, that is a beautiful tribute for your Pa. He would be a proud man to know everyone turned out to see him off and that he was so well loved by you all. Death is hard but if a life has been well lived, I think it is made that little bit easier. He obviously lived every minute with passion for his family!
It is nice to have you back, I hope you post from time to time.
